A great big thankyou to all who voted for me in the janome comtest i have won $100 in the viewers choice, i am so happy been doing the happy dance !!! My piece will be going on display in Calagary and Toronto in the fall how exciting is that !! Hi everyone,
i just wanted to share that i have started a new blog for my sewing and textile work , i decided i wanted to keep it seperate from my paper crafts so i can see my progress grow with my sewing etc . I hope you take the time to come visit and find some inspiration to do some sewing or textile art yourselfs. I know a few of you already sew and i know i could probably learn a lot from some of you in this area, so any tips would be great . Just a quick post to wish everyone a happy new year ! I had a wonderful christmas and my DH booked us a trip to the dominican for new years and i have been back just over a week ! what a wonderful trip it was the weather was perfect and the beach and hotel wonderful ! I am all caught up with laundry etc and now need to get some crafting done, i have been playing a little with my felting machine so i will post my creations when i finish them off !!

Yes its been 6 months and i do feel bad for not blogging ! a lot has happened in my life this past few months. I had visitors from England did a road trip to Memphis which was fabulous took up the whole summer. On a sour note my dads cancer returned which he is having treatment at the moment but they also found an annurism in his heart so its been a very stressful time, i also lost a couple of good friends and their deaths were a real shock. My computer crashed in october and i lost all my e mail addresses and pics i was so upset, i will be glad to see the new year !!! I havnt really done much crafting a little sewing thats all as i havn't had the heart to do any, been a real low time but the holiday spirit is lifting my own spirit and i want to take the time to thank you all for your well wishes. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and a very prosperous new year full of wealth health and happiness !!

A few things to share !

Well this was my last month as a design team member for two scrapbook friends, my 6 month term is over and i didn't apply again as summer is too busy for me with visitors from England. so these are my last creations as a design team member for them . papers are all pink paislee and i used storybook cart and plantin schoolbook cart. I also want to share with you my first project i did with my new embellisher machine, not having many materials to work with i used scraps of cloth and wool i found amongst my stash but i love my little landscape it reminds me of the lake district. all materials embellished onto a piece of craft felt.

On another note my yardwork is almost over i tell you that staining has taken me over two weeks already and i'm still not done, what a humongus task wish i'd never started lol ! i am trying desperately to get everything done before my visitors arrive at the end of this month. I had sad news recently that my dads cancer has returned i am so pleased that his specialist is letting him come for a vaccation before his treatment starts, so i am going to give him a wonderful holiday ! I am driving my parents down to memphis to see Graceland so any tips on the area would be greatly appreciated ! well i guess i rambled on too long but hey thanks for stopping by i love you guys !

Oh boy have i had trouble trying to get on my blog and some others it kept aborting the operation drove me up the bloody wall! well here is my creations for Mays two scrapbook friend monthly design team. I deleted my pics off my camera so i had to wait till the store posted them so i could copy the pics to put on my blog . I made these back in April so i am late posting. to be honest i have been super busy what with visitors from England and trying to open the pool and doing yard work plus staining my shed and fence phew its been never ending. I really have not had any time to craft as yet this month. My dh bought me an embellisher felting machine for mothers day i have wanted one for some time and i have only managed one play with that. Well i guess you are all in the same boat such a busy time of year. Hope everyone is keeping well.

Hey i've been missing in action again this week lol !! I had visitors from England so i became a tourist guide again !! We went to Niagara falls on the weekend and the weather was just perfect, the falls looked amazing with a huge rainbow sitting right inside; so weird but oh so very beautiful to see !! Also been to niagara on the lake, St jacobs, Toronto, toronto island, and a couple of more local places . I wanted to share a few pics of the falls with the rainbow with you all !! ENJOY !

BBTB doodlecharm weekly challenge !!

Wow it's been ages since i used the doodlecharm cart so it was great to pull it out this week and have to use for the challenge over at the BBTB site. Regina said we could use any cut as long as it was the border feature, so i used the dragonflies which i cut in chipboard and paper and i embellished them with ink and stickles and skittles which i coloured with a sharpie. Ribbon and rubons complete a fun and easy card !! tfl. Now hop on over to the BBTB site for another contest amazing creations from the other designers and a blog hop for candy woohoo !!

Oh what a treat this week, we got to use some vintage images from one of my fellow design team members sister !! Sharons sister Peggy of Peggy's loves vintage has some fabulous images on cd's that you can buy just click HERE to go to her site. We got to pick from 4 images and the bbtb design team did amazing !! we were asked to use the lnch bag from the tags bags boxes cricut cart and i also used the butterfly from the indie cart !! I used a stamp from SU for the sentiment and inks from Tim Holtz and a little bit of stickles. You can check out all the other designs HERE. Oh yes theres also another contest starting and you could win one of peggy's cd's so what are you waiting for !!!

I finally got my internet back on, i have hated not having it. I have been busy painting the two offices and swapping them over so i now have a much brighter room to craft in !! We had to unhook all the wiring to feed it downstairs to the basement for my DH new office and of course we had to get the new furniture for that office. Well i am almost finished and can't wait to get back crafting !!!!
I also went away on a scrapbook retreat to Grandbend and boy it was so much fun !! I met some fabulous new friends, who i hope to get together with soon, hey it was great bumping into some of you yesterday at scrapfest !!!! i will share with you some time this week what i made on my weekend and of course pics of my new room !! well better get back to putting my stash away in my cupboards, have a fabulous weekend !!!

Well another month has come around and i have been dying to post my creations but we have to wait till the first of the month !! The paper was yummy this month and the ribbon chipboard and bling gave us all some wonderful elements to work with. from my design kit i made a double and a single layout and two cards !! apart from my kit i used alcohol inks, distress inks and storybook cart plus the cut and emboss butterfly from cuttlebug ! BBTb doodlecharm bunny !!

Wow another week gone by already !! time is flying by !!! I had some bad news this past week, my dads cancer has returned so my head is kind of in the clouds at the moment !! i'm trying to stay focused and positive and i hope he is doing the same It's so hard when we are in different countries! I'm trying to keep busy so my scrap room is now all packed up in boxes as my DH is giving me the bigger office upstairs that means ill have a window let some light in !!! So now i have to re paint my old room buy a new desk for it etc then re paint the office upstairs and set it all up, i bet it is going to take me a couple of weeks . I'm also excited to be going away this weekend on a scrapbooking retreat with my lss two scrapbook friends and my wonderful friend michelle friday till sunday, i am so looking forward to the break !! Now for the fun stuff the challenge this week was to use the bunny from the doodlecharm cart and i made my bunny sitting in the meadow amongst the daffodils, i used WIMG for the daffs and flowers and i used glossy accents on the flower heads and my bunnies feetpads and nose. This card is dimentional but it doesn't show to well on the pic !! Tfl sorry for blabbing on !!

BBTB spring challenge !!

I know it's been a while since i blogged but my mojo has gone to sleep !! i tried hard this week though to do the bbtb challenge and i wish i could take better pics because this card is so much prettier in real life !! I must have taken 20 shots seriously and i still not that happy with the pic !!! Anyhow the challenge was to use the word spring from the stretch your imagination cart ! the design team are awesome, talk about talent this team rocks !! check out all the creations HERE. oh yes and the scalloped rectangle is from the storybook cart !! This card is 7.5" x 6.5" lots of tim holtz inks and stickles and skittles !! TFL !

Highway sign challenge bbtb !!

Wow this week has flown by !! It was a very trying time for me the past week but thats another story !! Regina asked the bbtb team to make a project using the highway sign from the going places cart. I was working on making a card for the hallmark site which was to use the shoe from graphically speaking a challenge i had set., so when i was checking out the sign a purse came to mind straight away and voila two challenges in one !! When i first opened this kit, i thought i was in for a real hard time of it, not my usual colours but i really like the results i achieved from this kit ! The papers are from a canadian company in Quebec, Rosemoka.com and this was the equinoxe line ! The design team have to do a double and a single layout plus one other project, i managed to do my double two singles and a card. The other designers have done wonderful projects and you can see them on the two scrapbook friends gallery HERE.

For my double layout i cut the letters from the cuttin up cart and inked them with tim holts inks in mustard seed, weathered wood, orange marmalade. stars are cut from george cart. all other items came in my kit !!
For my first single layout i used the kit but i also used the story book cart for the frame crown and letters. i used distress inks in broken china, mustard seed.

For my next single layout apart from the kit supplies i also used inks in vintage photo and weathered wood.

Finally i made a card from the bits i had left, i used storybook for the scrolls and george for the flowers, i also used inks in faded jeans, black soot and cats eye white. I added a touch of stickles in waterfall. white gel pen !

BBTB challenge life is good !

Hi Everyone, i am still coughing and trying to shake off this pneumonia, i really do feel much much better though so now my energy is starting to return i feel i can do a little more crafting !

This weeks challenge for the bbtb team was to use the cut life is good from the graphically speaking cart, i used brown and black with a hint of pink for my colour combo on my card !! i also used the accent essential cart for the brown shape behind the wording ! The butterflies were cut from graphically speaking, flowers were from my stash and i added gossy accents and stickles and inked with Tim Holtz black soot distress ink ! you can check out all the other wonderful creations from my fellow design team members HERE.

Nanna card !!

I used paper from the dcwv sweet collection for the background ! nanna was cut from the jasmine cart on shadow inked and the edges stickled with icicle ! the frame behind nanna is cut from the home accent cart it's the welcome sign cut on blackout ! again i inked with Tim Holtz worn lipstick distress ink ! The flower branches were also cut from the home accent cart and again i used the same ink and added small rhinestones to the flower centres ! The butterflies are made from a small punch and i used a white gel pen to highlight areas !! thanks for looking !

I,m sick !!! and i gave notice at work !!!

Yes i'm sick i have a wicked cough and sinusitus, i keep running a temperature and i'm feeling sorry for myself !! I went to the doctors yesterday as i am feeling so drained and he tells me everyone has this !!! i have a bronchial cough and influenza and i just wish it would go away. Anybody have any good home recipes or tips to help you feel better ?? I tried the vicks on the soles of my feet with socks on, i heard this stops you coughing but it didn't work.

On another note i gave my notice at work a week ago, the shifts were just to much, lots of weekends and nights working till midnight. Well it was distrupting my craft time !!! Hope everyone reading this is keeping well !!!

Some very pretty creations this week by the bbtb design team ! i so look forward to sunday night or monday morning to see all the different creations my fellow design team members come up with. It's amazing all the variations from one little cut. This week we were asked to use the rose from the indie cart, it is such a beautiful cut and i decided to keep mine very simple using black and white as my main colour theme. I added the chipboard sentiment which i think pops right off the card. engagement card BBTB challenge !

I just love this heart on the wedding cart and i was pleased Regina set this for the bbtb design team for this weeks challenge as i need an engagement card for my my friends daughter who just became engaged. I cut the heart at 4.75" and then placed it on a folded piece of card stock and i drew around it so the top edge stayed in tact. I then adhered the loose heart to the folded heart. Next i cut the scroll insert two times and glued them together and i used icicle stickles to cover the top scrolled insert. I added pearls to the bottom pointed edge and a satin pink bow with a ribbon and pearl flower in the centre. the design team did amazing this week you can check out all the designs HERE

New home snail BBTB challenge

Wow talk about some cute snails, Regina set the challenge this week to use the snail from WIMG cart and i can tell you i have never seen as many cute snails !! The bbtb design team did amazing once again. For my card i decided to turn the snails shell into a little house with a sold sign ! I used a fiskars punch to add detail to the roof and i also used the scallop cut from the plantin schoolbook cart on the top edge of the card. I randomly placed little flowers by Jolee which my blogging friend Kris sent me a while back. Gosh can you believe that i've been sick again !! this is crazy ! felt ill on saturday but i had a christmas party at my house and so i put a brave face on but had to leave my guests and got to bed as i was sick as a dog !! I was so sick on sunday !! and yesterday i still felt very queesy and weak but i just chilled in my jammies !! have to say feeling a little better this morning but my stomach is so sore. I hope this is the last of it for me cos i hate being sick !! praying that carl and sophie don't get this for the christmas holidays !!!
Well thats my little moan but i also wanted to wish everyone a wonderful christmas and a very happy new year !!

Wow have i been busy !! i have been working loads plus i had the flu which was horrid, and i have been trying to get my christmas shopping done, i feel exhausted ! It was daughters birthday last week also and my Dh christmas work party, honestly it has been non stop for me !! I am sure you are all in the same boat such a busy time of year ! I managed to get a couple of cards made much to my surprise lol !! the first one is for the Hallmark scrapbook weekly challenge which i set the theme which was to use a snowman, i made a tri fold card and added trees and a snowman cut from the christmas cheer cart and of course lots of stickles !!

The second one is for this weeks BBTB challenge which we were to use spot the dog from the paper pups cart, such a cute cut and i also used the snowflake embossing folder and snowflakes cut from joy of the season ! this will also cover another challenge at hallmark scrapbooks which was to use snowflakes !! A partridge in a pear tree bbtb !!

Happy monday everyone !! what a frustrating weekend for me my internet and power kept going off due to the snowfall !! So i am late getting my challenge in this week. Regina asked the bbtb team to use the bare tree from stretch your imagination but to use it with a christmas theme let me tell you this was a hard one !!

I decided to use that new classy charm font that ScrapNfonts kindly gave me and joy of the season for the pears and partridge. I cut my tree 4 times and layered it but i embossed the top tree with the cuttlebug, the pears are cut in shiny gold which doesn't show up very well on this pic ! I added stickles to the edges of the torn paper to make the snow look a little wet. This looks so much better in real life !! The design team did amazing this week so many wonderful ideas you can see what they all did HERE

Ho Ho Ho ! BBTB weekly challenge !

Hey happy monday everyone !! i love my card this week it looks so christmasy and snowy in real life even my hubby said wow lol !! The designers at BBTB were asked to use the mickey cars from mickey and friend cart and i had just got my new martha stewart branch punch so i was determined to use the two !! I'm also going to use this card for one of the challenges at hallmark scrapbooks which was to use one of the santa hats.

Car was cut at 3" and santa was cut from the paper doll cart at 2" and the trees also cut from paper doll at 2" 2.5" and 3". i then covered the trees with the punched out branches.

I used glossy accents on the headlights and the wheel centres, snow writer on santas hat and the trees. Lace stickles on the snowy ground and some on the trees, white cats eye chalk and distress inks. ho ho ho was hand written. This is my card for daring card makers weekly challenge which is to use bling !!
Well i finally got to use my new cuttlebug tree folder !! I used gold paper and coloured it with alcohol inks to make this rich copper colour !! I cut around the tree and mounted onto this blue and copper brown paper, which i stitched onto the blue background paper. i added blue gems and coloured a gold star brad with a blue permanent marker for the tree top. The stamp is from inkidinkidoo. Thanks for looking !!

Christmas snowflake box and gift tag BBTB weekly challenge !!

Hi everyone !! hope you all had a glorious weekend !! so let me tell you about this weeks challenge ! SCRAPNFONTS a wonderful online font store sponsered the challenge for all the BBTB designers and we had Tis the season modern dingbats and the classy charm font to use on our project !! Oh yes they are also the sponsers for the new contest going on over at th BBTB site !

Regina asked us to use the card from the christmas cheer cart as our canvas but i didn't read my e mail properly and made a box from the wild cart cartridge ! I did use the christmas cheer card though as a tag for the box lol !! I loved using the dinbats and fonts, i printed out in matching ink to my background paper and used co ordinating ink on the edges and matching stickles and ribbon ! Yay !! i finally got to play with my kit i bought from my lovely friend Krista and her mum Penny at http://sweetartspaperie.blogspot.com/. I made three cards and i still have some of the goodies left to make something else so check out their awesome kits !!

My first card is for CPS challenge, i did use my cricut to cut the scalloped vellum with the MM cart ! fabric flowers chipboard heart !!

My second card is for Artygirlz, this week it was to use some fabric on your card and so the felt house worked out perfectly for this !! I also used my martha stewart punch and some pink stickles.

And now for my third card i am submitting this for the sketch saturday challenge this is the first time i have done a challenge on this site , again i used the mini mono cart for the scalloped circles and my fiskars threading water punch !!

What a fun little project it was this week !! The BBTB team were asked to use the nut cup from Tags bags cart !! I thought what a fun little cup to make into little treats filled with either marshmallows or scotch mints and call it snowman poop !! The tag reads Youve been naughty, so here's the scoop, you're getting nothing but snowman poop !! This is a one page layout i made, i used JOTS for the snowflake fit to page and Home accents for the snowflake photo corners, paper is by Fiskars and around the block and i also used Tim Holtz distress inks, chipboard letters i actually picked up at the dollar store !!, snowflake brads from my stash !! TFL !!!

I quite enjoyed making this project this week , I re covered a pillow box with lovely christmas paper by K and Co then i used the tree cut from the joy of the season cart in paper by my minds eye i used crackle accents on the tree and the circles i cut and stickled around the circles. I added some cute little red rhinestones and added bows in gold and red and a gorgeous glittered poinsetta. Thanks for taking the time to look and i would love to hear your feed back !! My Girl ! BBTB challenge !

Well i really had to get my thinking cap on for this challenge ! Regina asked us to use the accent essential cart and to use the accent 49 cut !! I had been wanting to do some layouts for a while now and thought the cut would make a wonderful border.
I used black red and cream papers by Autum leaves i think it's called foof a la. Autumn red cardstock and black soot distress ink by Tim Holtz. The border down the left is the accent 49 cut and i added some croched flowers with little cream pearls . The my girl was cut 3 times and layered from the storybook cart and i covered them with glossy accents, then pop dotted them off the page. I also cut two flourishes from the accent cart and added a larger croched flower. I added just a few buttons in the same colours ! You have to check out what all the other designers did this week !! I designed a cricut class !! for Two Scrapbook Friends

This is so exciting for me !! a couple of weeks ago i went to a pink crop at my LSS Two scrapbook friends and they had fallen in love with a couple of recent cards i had made and asked me if i would like to design a cricut class for them using the christmas cheer cart !! Well yes of course i would lol !! So whilst i was there we picked out the paper ribbon trimmings etc and they wanted me to use two designs i had already done just change them a little !! I also had to design one other card !! This class will be offered shortly at there store and the information will be posted on their blog HERE, so keep watching !! here are the cards !!

I made this for the challenge over at the daring card makers site, the challenge was to use scallops !!!

Just a quick card i threw together using my new bauble folder and bauble cut and emboss die !! I highlighted parts of the background baubles with stickles. I also used stickles and perfect pearls to add dimention to the bauble die, Scallop border cut from Plantin schoolbook at 1", glittered the white background and added white spot doodling. A few skittles and some old glitter trim to finish it offf !! thanks for looking !

What a great challenge again this week, The BBTB team were asked asked to use the pear cut from the home accent cart and i knew straight away i was going to make a christmas card !!

I cut the scrolled background from the storybook cart then i heat embossed it with white holographic embossing powder ( so pretty ). My pears are heat embossed with gold around the edges and centres and i used the cuttlebug to dry emboss the fleshy section of the pears. The leaves are covered with lime stickles. I used a inkidinky christmas stamp which i also embossed with the gold. Thanks all for looking and please check out all the amazing other creations at BBTB !!!

What an awesome job my fellow design team girls this week on the BBTB challenge ! we were asked to use the princess dress from the dreams come true cart, well i did not have this cart so my lovely friend and design team member Sharon ( grammas) sent me the beautiful floral cut which i believe the paper is basic grey ! I used the cuttlebug for the embossed happy birthday and also the scrolled corner. The lace edge is the Martha Stewart punch and the shoe from sizzex die . I made this for the weekly challenges over at hallmark scrapbooks !! this week it was my turn to pick a challenge and i came up with using the calling bird from the Joy of the season cart ! I used a tin foil baking tray for the background which i embossed and inked with alcohol inks ( came out really cool ) Thanks Okie !! The corner flourish and tag are from the storybook cart and the border is made with my threading water punch and cuttlebug border folder. I used white chalk ink and white pen to highlight ! I also pop dotted the bird on top of the shadow white bird and cutsmall pieces out of the feathers so the white would show through !! TFL !!!

I'm on a little christmas kick at the moment so i used my speaking of winter cart again for the tree and snowman ( isn't he cute ). after inking i pop dotted the trees and snowman then i used my snow writers to add all the snow and i just love this stuff !! i stamped the let it snow circle image and layered it for extra thickness and pop dotted that off the card. I then added lots of snowflakes again with the snow writer !!

This for Lauras sketch at the 2sketches 4you site and also this week on daring card makers there's a fabulous tutorial all about embossing so i was inspired to get out my cuttlebug !! I used my speaking of winter cart for the snowflake which i cut 3 times and glued together to make it like chipboard, i used Tim holtz inks and stickles to decorate the snowflake !! I also embossed the snowflake with the swiss dots folder and used the snowflake folder for the corner piece. wording is a rub on ! metal snowflake brads finish it off !! What a busy week again for me, my second lot of visitors just went home after staying with me for a week so i now have a couple of days free before my third lot arrive from the uk. i feel so exhausted but it has been wonderful seeing so many familiar faces and catching up on all the uk gossip !!

Wow what a busy three weeks i have had with my parents, There visit was wonderful , we had so much fun and i am so sad they have gone back to England i will miss them so much !!

Just to say a quick thanks to you all for your well wishes,my parents are still here and we have been out on day trips so still a little busy. oh my goodness what a wonderful surprise to greet me i made the design team for BBTb woohoo, doing the happy dance !!! so funny i started singing the song i'm so excited and i just can't hide it lol !! I can't wait to get playing and be part of the amazing design team. Thankyou so much !!!

On another note I had a fantastic time in manhattan it was so hot !!! but it didn't stop us from seeing everything ! My parents absolutely loved it they saw everything they wanted and more, got myself a couple of designer handbags and my daughter well she went wild when we went to little Italy and China town and all the purses and sunglasses were on display lol !!!

I also would like to thank you all for your wonderful well wishes and for missing me you are all a wonderful bunch of friends !!

What a great sketch this week at 2 sketches 4 you !! i really enjoyed making this card !! paper is from me and my big ideas, flowers cut from walk in my garden with pearl brad centre's, rub ons for words, bird is a heidi swap sticker Raked to me from lea ( thanks Lea ) i stuck it to cardstock and then cut around it and doodled on it !! i added a small crystal gem for the birds eye !! 1, go for physio my shoulder is killing me this week !

5, take my daughter to dance !

Snacks I enjoy:
anything that has chocolate on it or is just all chocolate !!

Things I would do if I was a millionaire:
Take my whole family around the world !! build a huge craft room on my house, buy a really nice embroidery machine would love to own one, get the pazzles etc, give some money to family and friends, make sure we invested enough never to work again and make sure my dd was financially secure !

You have to go and check out all the amazing creations !! I found the background paper online a free download !! I also found the orange slice online and printed it to cardstock ! so cool was cut from cuttin up cart and i used glossy accents on the popsicle and the letters ! I used different coloured stickles on the rest of the small popsicles ! Thanks for looking !

I can't believe this card covers 3 challenges again !! well this time i used Lauras sketch from 2 sketches 4 you, and daring card makers mid week challenge is to use either coral or jade so i went with coral. and again paper take weekly wants you to use die cuts or punches on your creations this week ! I used mini mono for the scalloped square and home accents for the butterfly. lots of stickles !!!
